Labor Preparation

In preparation for birth we work to empower you with knowledge for a safe, natural labor and address concerns and anxiety.  Lisa specializes in VBACs, breeched baby, and past due dates with much success.  Acupuncture naturally decreases pain and increases stamina during labor when performed regularly during pregnancy, or in close succession near your due date. Weeks leading up to your due date, acupuncture will soften the cervix, and encourage the body towards natural labor and delivery. The most optimal circumstances are created in your body via acupuncture, giving you the support and courage needed for the safest birth possible.

Postpartum Care

Postpartum care takes ancient methods that are still applicable in these modern times to regain and maintain health after childbirth. These include mother roasting, setting the sacrum, and binding the body back into place - all done in a ritualistic, nurturing manner to honor the body's birthing process. Deep relaxation is experienced, fortifying both Mother and Baby, making each calmer and happier with stronger immune systems. Recovery rates are faster, for both vaginal and cesarian births with proper postpartum care and support provided by these soothing techniques.

This article, Relief Right to the Point by Phyllis Edgerly Ring, from PregnancyToday.com explains all of the benefits and effectiveness of acupuncture throughout pregnancy and pre-labor treatment.  Study results are included.
